Buddha And Jesus


Question: 1 – What does a student owe his teacher?
Answer: A student owes his teacher obedience and reverence first before his own fathers.
Question: 2 – Why according to Vivekananda a teacher greater than a father?
Answer: According to Vivekananda a teacher is greater than a father because the father gives this body but the teacher shows the way to salvation so he is greater than father.
Question: 3 – Why is it not easy to be a disciple?
Answer: It is not easy to be a disciple because many conditions have to be fulfilled and great preparations are necessary.
Question: 4 – What should we do before teaching the highest spiritual truth?
Answer: We should read the Gita and other books on Vedanta before teaching the highest spiritual truth.
Question: 5 – What does Vivekananda say about Sermon on the Mount and the Gita?
Answer: Vivekananda says that the Sermon on the Mount and Gita are very simple. Even a layman can understand them.
Question: 6 – What is peculiar about the bond between the teacher and the taught in India?
Answer: There is a peculiar bond between a teacher and the taught. In other countries the teacher comes in the class, teaches his pupils and leaves the class. The pupils pay for his labour. In India it is not so. Here a teacher adopts the pupil as his own child. He looks after him as his own son. Teacher in India is greater than father in the sense that father gives his child body only while the teacher makes him able to support himself.
Question: 7 – Why did Vivekananda has the highest Veneration for Buddha?
Answer: Vivekananda had the highest veneration for Buddha because he had marvelous brain. He was not emotional. His brain was free from superstitions. His teaching was revolutionary, free and broad. Buddha was great in life and death both because he would not claim any distinction fro himself.
Question: 8 – What does Vivekananda say about the present system of education? What advice does he give to young man?
Answer: Vivekananda says about the present system of education that it is all wrong. He gives an advice to the Youngman that they should learn to control the mind before they one taught.
